Kings Dominion and Soak City
This amusement park is located in Doswell and is one of the major parks in the state. It has a large collection of roller coasters and thrill rides. One of the most popular rides is the “Intimidator 305,” a roller coaster that is the tallest and fastest on the East Coast. Soak City is a water park that is included with admission to Kings Dominion and features two wave pools, water slides, four slides, a lazy river, tube slides, play house and more.
Busch Gardens and Water Country USA
This theme park is advertised as the “world’s most beautiful theme park” and is located in Williamsburg. It is home to roller coasters, rides, and the biggest water park in the state, Water Country USA. Water Country USA has a separate admission and features water slides, lazy rivers, a wave pool and more.
Great Wolf Lodge
This indoor water park is part of the Great Wolf Lodge chain and is located in Williamsburg. This indoor water park features hot springs, water slides, an activity pool and more. One of the most popular rides is the “Howlin’ Tornado,” which is a raft ride that is six stories tall.
Massanutten Resort
This indoor and outdoor water park is located in Massanutten and is considered the “#2 Indoor Water Park in America” by USA Today. Indoor it features slides, pools, a lazy river, hot tubs and a surfing simulator. Outdoor it features a water slide and wave pool.
Motor World
This amusement park is located in Virginia Beach and features go kart tracks, mini golf, a Skycoaster, kiddie rides, and bumper boats. The Skycoaster is “Virginia Beach’s only SkyCoaster” and is one of the most popular attractions. It goes up to 130 feet high and seven miles per hour.
Ocean Breeze Water Park
This water park is located in Virginia Beach and offers 16 water slides, a kids play area, a wave pool, lazy river and more. One of the most popular rides is the “Earth Shaker,” a tube slide that was named “Best New Water Park Ride in The World” in 2010.
Splash Down
This water park in Manassas is Northern Virginia’s largest outdoor water park. It features slides, an activity pool, a kids pool, a lazy river and more.
