Thunder Road Family Fun Park
This park has three locations across the state: Aberdeen, Watertown, and Sioux Falls. These parks feature mini golf, a bungy jumping attraction, go-karts, an arcade and more. Sioux Falls has the most attractions including laser tag, human foosball, bumper boats, go-karts, and a laser maze.
Wild Water West
This water park was voted “#1 Fun Spot” by The Local Best. It features a water slide complex with body and tube slides, a swim up bar, a wave pool and more. One of the most popular attractions is “Tornado Alley,” a tube slide that has a funnel in the middle.
WaTiki Water Park Resort
This indoor water park is located in Rapid City and features six water slides, a lazy river, a water play structure, a hot tub, a kids pool and more. This park is part of a resort and is open year round.
Evan’s Plunge
This water park is located in Hot Springs and has indoor and outdoor attractions. This park features water slides, a kids play area and more. It opened in 1890 and the pool temperature maintains an average of 87 degrees. It features indoor and outdoor slides, two hot tubs, a sauna and more.
Rush Mountain Adventure Park
This theme park is located in the Black Hills near Mount Rushmore. It features a zip line, an interactive ride, a small roller coaster and more. It is well-known for its scenic tours of Rushmore Cave, which has attracted visitors for over 90 years.
Splash Central Water Park
This outdoor water park is located in Huron and features slides, a water coaster, an obstacle course, a lazy river and more. One of its most popular rides is the “Master Blaster” a water coaster that goes 40-feet high and is 400-feet long.
Splash Zone Water Park
This indoor water park is located in Brookings and features an extra large hot tub, a splash pad, a lazy river, and water slides.
Storybook Land
This park is located in Aberdeen, is geared toward children, and is storybook-themed. It features a small roller coaster, a carousel, a train and more. Its most popular attraction is the Land of Oz, which features settings and characters from “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”
Storybook Island
This park is located in Rapid City and is geared toward children. It features characters from children’s stories, a carousel, a train and playgrounds.
