North Carolina’s Theme and Water Parks
Carowinds
This park is located in Charlotte, North Carolina and Fort Mill, South Carolina and has a line that shows the border between the two states. Carowinds is the biggest attraction in North Carolina. It has a big variety of roller coasters, thrill rides, family rides, kids rides and more. One of the most popular roller coasters is called “Intimidator,” a roller coaster that is advertised as “one of the tallest, fastest and longest of its kind in the Southeast” it goes 232 feet high and 80 mph.
Carowinds has a water park that is called Carolina Harbor and is included with admission. It features water slides, wave pools, play structures and more.
Wet ‘n’ Wild Emerald Pointe
This outdoor water park is located in Greensboro and is advertised as “North Carolina’s Best Water Park.” It features over 36 attractions including slides, a lazy river, a raft ride, a kids play area and more. One of the most popular attractions is the “Soak Zone,” a water play area that has over 35 elements.
Great Wolf Lodge Concord
This indoor water park is part of the Great Wolf Lodge chain and is located in Concord. It features attractions like body slides, tobe slides, mat racing, kids play areas, a raft ride and more. One of the most popular attractions is the “Howlin’ Tornado,” a raft ride that takes riders through a funnel.
Jungle Rapids
This family fun park is located in Wilmington and features go-karts, laser tag, mini golf, as well as an outdoor water park. The water park features a lazy river, a wave pool and more.
Fantasy Lake Water Park
This water park is located in Hope Mills and features “Tarzan Swings,” paddle boards, slides, a diving board and more.
Santa’s Land Fun Park and Zoo
This amusement park is located in Cherokee and is Christmas themed. It has rides like the “Rudicoaster” roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, as well as a zoo.
Frankie’s Fun Park
This family entertainment center has locations in Raleigh and Charlotte. Both locations feature go-karts, arcades, bumper boats and other rides. One of the most popular rides is “Drop Zone.”
WagonMaster Adventure Ranch Resort
This park is located in Murphy and features mini golf, wagon rides, a bouncy castle and more.
Tweetsie Railroad
This theme park is located in Blowing Rock and is train-themed. The park has a train that travels through the mountains as well as a carousel, a Ferris wheel, spinning rides and more.
Galaxy Fun Park
This family entertainment center is located in Raleigh and it has laser tag, a trampoline park, go-karts, mini golf and more. One of the most popular attractions is the 10,000-square-foot trampoline park.
Carolina Beach Boardwalk
This boardwalk is located in Carolina Beach and has rides that are geared toward younger children.
