Colorado’s Theme and Water Parks

Colorado’s Theme and Water Parks

Bananas Fun Park

Located in Grand Junction, this family entertainment center has indoor and outdoor attractions including go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats, and more. In the warmer seasons, the park opens Coconut Cove, an outdoor water play attraction with water slides and jets.

Elitch Gardens and Island Kingdom

This park is located in Denver and dates back to 1890, although it has relocated since. This park includes roller coasters, family rides, kid rides, and thrill rides. The most popular attraction is the “Twister II,” a wooden roller coaster that features a 90-foot drop.

Island Kingdom water park is located next to Elitch Gardens and is included in admission. It features family rides and thrill rides.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

This amusement park is located in Glenwood Springs and features roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, and a swing. “The Haunted Mine Drop” is the park’s most unique ride and is the world’s first underground drop ride.

APEX Center

This small indoor water park is located in Arvada and is home to water slides, a water playground, a rock climbing wall, and more. They also have an outdoor water park that is open in warmer months.

Glenwood Hot Springs Pool

This water park is located in Glenwood Springs and is home to the world’s largest hot springs pool, water slides, mini golf, a spa, and more.

Lakeside

Located in Denver, this amusement park features thrill rides, family attractions and kid rides. It has been operating at the same location since 1908 and is located next to a lake and mountains.

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

This park is located in Canon City and features the world’s highest suspension bridge, the world’s longest aerial tram, and the world’s steepest incline railway, along with a children’s play land, zip line, and sky coaster.

Great Wolf Lodge

Located in Colorado Springs, this indoor water park resort includes attractions such as a funnel ride, water slide, and an interactive water play center. The park is only open to guests of the hotel.

Water World

This water park is located just north of downtown Denver and is known by the Travel Channel as one of America’s best waterparks. It features 49 attractions including a 1,000 foot lazy river, wave pools, and themed water rides.

Santa’s Workshop

Located in a town near Colorado Springs called North Pole, this Christmas themed park features 28 rides including family rides, child only rides, and infant friendly rides.

Pirates Cove

Located in Englewood, this small water park has a pool, water slides, a lazy river, and a water play structure.

Splash Water Park

Located in Golden, this small outdoor water park is home to an activity pool, water slides, a spray fountain and a lap pool.
