Alaska’s Theme and Water Parks

H2Oasis

H2Oasis opened in 2003 and is known for its exciting rides and welcoming staff. This is the only water park in Alaska and is located in Anchorage. H2Oasis is a large park – it has a total of 350,000 gallons of water in the park at one time. It maintains a tropical temperature of 86 degrees year round and is a great way to escape the cold Alaska weather.

Attractions

There are many attractions at H2Oasis. One big attraction is the lazy river. The lazy river is 575 feet long and wraps around the whole park. It is one of the most popular and relaxing attractions at the park and is fun for all ages.

The “Master Blaster” is a water-powered roller coaster that has a 43 foot high Blast Off Station and is 505 feet long. This roller coaster has jets that shoot you up and down for a fun and exciting ride. Two people can ride this roller coaster at once on the same float.

H2Oasis has two slides: the open-flume orange slide and the enclosed green slide. The open-flume orange slide launches you from a 43 foot high Blast Off Station. This fast paced slide only takes 17 seconds to get to the end. The enclosed green slide is smaller but also fast paced.

The wave pool is the main pool at this park and perfect for all ages and swimmers. At the shallow end, kids can enjoy a “Mushroom Waterfall” or the “Beached Boat Slide.” At the deep end, the man-made waves can get up to four feet high.

There is also an attraction called the “Alaska Tub.” This oversized hot tub overlooks the wave pool and is a great place to relax in the park. The Alaska Tub is a great way to take a break from the cold weather and relax.

The park’s newest feature is the cabanas. These are available to rent and include a refrigerator, locker, towels, and bottles of water. This is a perfect place for parents to relax while their kids play in the park. They can be rented for the entire day and have limited availability.
