Maine’s Theme and Water Parks
Maine is home to New England’s only beachfront amusement park, Palace Playland. Maine has many other parks and fun attractions that are a great way to spend the summer! Maine’s Theme and Water Parks
Funtown Splashtown USA
Funtown is located in Saco and is Maine’s largest amusement park. It features thrill rides, family rides, and kid rides. “Astrosphere” is one of the most popular rides and is an indoor scrambler ride that plays music and has lights and sounds. It is also home to “Excalibur”, Maine’s only wooden roller coaster.
Splashtown is located next to Funtown USA and is Maine’s largest water park. It features 12 attractions and rides including body slides, tube slides, a pool, and more. For younger kids, the park has Pirates Paradise AquaPlay. Admission to Splashtown is included with admission to Funtown.
Palace Playland
This amusement park is located on Old Orchard Beach and is advertised as “New England’s only beachfront amusement park.” It features kid rides, family rides, roller coasters, and thrill rides. One of the most popular rides is “The Pirate,” a swinging ride that gives riders a “weightlessness” feeling. Business Insider listed this park in “The Best 50 US Attractions You’ve Never Heard Of.”
Aquaboggan Water Park
This water park is also located in Saco and features tube rides, slides, bumper boats, a wave pool, go carts, mini golf, and more. For younger kids, the park has a toddler splash ‘n’ play. One of the most popular attractions is the “Turbo Drop” slide, a steep slide that is fast-paced.
York’s Wild Kingdom
York’s Wild Kingdom is a zoo that features a few smaller rides. The animal attractions include a lion, a monkey, a tiger, and more. It also has spinning rides, a carousel, and a Ferris wheel and is located at York Beach.
Wild Acadia
Located in Trenton, this family entertainment center features zip lines, water slides, go karts, mini golf, and more. This park is Eastern Maine’s only water slide park and is open seasonally.
Seacoast Adventure
This small outdoor water park is located in Windham and features two children’s play areas, a pool, and more. It also features a Sky Swing, tubing, go-karts, and mini golf.
Wonder Mountain Fun Park
This family entertainment center is located in Wells and features go karts, mini golf, a maze, and an arcade.
